Red Sea Revival

I have been down to the depths of the Red Sea again this week. I am on another week long liveaboard scuba trip. This time down in the southern part of the sea.

The temperatures both in and out of the water have been lovely and warm. Plus there has been sun everyday. Bliss!!

We have lots of fantastic dives. Beautiful coral, fish and marine life. During tonight's night dive we encountered a stunning eagle ray at least four feet across gliding through the blue. We were also treated to large groups of lion fish out hunting. They were attracted to our torch light. It helps them see their prey.

The other passengers are much more hospitable than the previous group. For one thing, they speak to me. Plus, I have my friend Karen with me. She came down from Edinburgh for this week. The crew are great too, although I have to say the food was a bit better on the last boat.

Highlights include sitting up on the top deck watching the water swirl and crash over reef while covered with a canopy of stars listening to the Muslims on board perform their evening prayers. You can't ask for a better relaxation method. I must tuck this scene away in my mind so I can relive it when I need to remember just how lucky I am.

PS: I went swimming with dolphins today. Amazing!!

This imagery sounds absolutely PERFECT! What a moment to hold on to! I once saw an eagle ray off the coast of Belize while snorkleing. It definitly had a magical quality to it and made me enjoy the fact that such beautiful things and places exist on this planet all the time even when no humans are around to appreciate them. How fortunate you are to be one of the humans who DO get to appreciate such things!
